Q: I caught my son doing drugs. How do I respond?

A: Our kids are up to insurmountable levels of peer pressure today. Your job as a parent is to counter attack these with positive influences instead. Are you providing your son with opportunities to get around and interact with kids who are living for Christ? Kids that are not depending on drugs to feel great? Or are you just letting life bring you what it may? Our sons and daughters can't do better without the proper equipment, and the environment we allow them to have both in and outside of the home is no exception.
So yes, you may have caught your son doing drugs. But its not likely that it is his first time. The bible says, "To will is with me but how to perform that which I will I find not" [Romans 13:17] You son may want to do better but is looking for you to show him how. Begin to communicate with him about the end of a life with drugs. Let him know about and even visit people who are dying of cancer due to smoking in their earlier days. His friends have probably only introduced him to the feel-good side of drugs and have left this out. Talk to him about how you and others have overcome it.

Stick to the previous and he is likely to turn around. The devil is a liar. All hope is not gone.
